Originally trained at ESRA School of Cinema and Photography in France, Xinlei has built a career spanning short films, commercials, and documentary work across Europe and Asia — now based in Camrose, Alberta.

Xinlei's journey began at ESRA — one of Europe's most prestigious film and photography college in France. There, he developed a rigorous approach to visual storytelling, studying under working cinematographers.

The training instilled a deep appreciation for natural light, precise composition, and the emotional weight of a single frame — principles that inform every project, from a family portrait session to a full-scale commercial production.

International work

International Career

From Mercedes
to the Palace Museum.

Over the past decade, Xinlei has worked on some of the most demanding commercial and documentary productions in Asia and Europe. Credits include a Mercedes-Benz brand documentary, a commemorative film for the Palace Museum's 100th anniversary, and the critically acclaimed TV series The Long Season.

Now based in Camrose, Alberta, he brings that same international-level craft to every local project — from intimate family portraits to large-scale commercial campaigns across Western Canada.
